Award Winning Filmmaker Shoots Another Film
By H. Luna
Houston filmmaker, director and writer
Mr. Andrew Edison is finalizing his digital short film “My Darling Clementine”. The Where’s My Monkey Productions company and Mr. Edison will be entering this 35-minute short dramedy in various film festivals around the country later this year. C-47 Houston was on the set of this shoot Sunday July 20th where we first met Mr. Edison his crew and some of the cast members. He is a filmmaker in the truest sense of the word. An energetic director whose love of filmmaking is evident in the way he moves talent and crew. His vision of the medium is an art form. “My Darling Clementine” is Andrew’s sixth short film. His last short “Tile M for Murder” won “The Grand Festival Award – Young Producers” at the 2007 Berkeley Film and Video Festival and “The Best Film By a Young Filmmaker” at the 2007 Eugene International Film Festival. “My Darling Clementine” was written by Andrew Edison and is about a pathetic and socially awkward character, Odie Dingleburger, who has a delusional affection for a co-worker, Clementine, and his attempts to profess his wanting for her. His life has been built on false impressions and misunderstandings that cumulate in several interesting and comical twists and turns as he attempts to court the love of his life. Director of Photography, Ms. Katie McDowell, is shooting this short with the Canon XL2. Mr. Chris Chan is the sound engineer and Ms. Skylar Dabbar is the Assistant Director of this short film. Mr. Edison will be editing “My Darling Clementine” with FinalCut Pro software and hopes to have it complete for the 2009 edition of the Slamdance Film Festival, among others. Casting for this film includes Houstonian’s Matt Tramel as “Odie Dingleburger”, Kurt Bauer as “Kurt Kerosene”, and Megan Boyle as “Clementine Merrifield”.
Mr. Edison says he will continue to make short films while he finishes up his education. But, hopes to continue writing scripts. Keep a look out for this director. He is up and coming and very talented! ### This is another “Made in Texas” film.
